April Michelle Bratten

Author April Michelle Bratten currently resides in Minot, North Dakota.

Her work has been published widely in both print and online journals. A few of her credits include Southeast Review, The Waterhouse Review, Stirring, Thrush Poetry Journal, Santa Fe Literary Review, and decomP, among others.

She has been nominated multiple times for both the Pushcart Prize and the Best of the Net award. April received her BA degree in English from Minot State University and she is the editor of Up The Staircase Quarterly, a successful literary journal online.

Her work appears in E&L's #1 Best Seller In The Company of Women: An Anthology of Wit & Wisdom, Sass & Class.

Her chapbook, Raw Dogs and Other Metaphors, was released in 2012 from Maverick Duck Press. 

Her first full length collection, It Broke Anyway, is now available from NeoPoiesis Press.

Bratten is also a contributor to the much anticipated forthcoming collection the Edgar Allan Poet Journal #2 - 2014
