Johnny Wright

Born in Newark, New Jersey, and growing up amidst the violent and infamous Newark riots, Johnny Wright remembers hiding in the bathtub under mattresses, trying to keep from getting hit by the armor piercing shells of the National Guard.

He started writing poetry after reading the work of Don L. Lee, in the ‘60s and pursued the “angry poet” genre until the 1970s when he discovered love, an event he credits with gentling his writing. A single father, Johnny continues to write, and is in the process of writing his first novel.

Edgar & Lenore’s Publishing House is pleased to include this talented author in the soon to be released anthology, Men In the Company of Women: A Men’s Anthology of Praise & Persuasion.
