Nair Pradeep

Born on May 17, 1972,  Nair Pradeep had his schooling up through Grade 8 at Kalyanji Kanji Rajpopat School in India’s financial capital of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra. After his father retired, Nair’s family moved to their native village of Kiliroor in Kottayam district in the southern Indian state of Kerala, to live with Pradeep’s maternal aunt, K. R. Dakshayani  Amma. 

Supported and encouraged by his aunt, Dakshayani Amma, Nair completed his masters in English Language and Literature from Baselius College, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University in 1995. That same year, he also published a book on basic English grammar and started teaching English at a college in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital district. 

In 2002, Pradeep enrolled for a post graduate diploma at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. The following year, he joined The Times of India daily in Pune, Maharashtra, as sub-editor. 

In 2007, in order to stay closer to family, he joined the editorial team of The Week magazine in Kochi, Kerala where he stayed until 2011.  

Since August 2011, Pradeep has been with the Oman Tribune in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, as deputy chief sub –editor.
